What is the NCIS?
The Nevada Career Information System (NCIS) is a computer-based system that combines a wealth of career, education and labor market information into one comprehensive, easy-to-use career exploration tool.
The NCIS is an invaluable resource for job seekers, career counselors, school counselors, students and educators. The Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation makes the NCIS available to Nevadans free of charge.

Is there a fee to utilize the NCIS?
No. The NCIS is currently licensed to all Nevada residents for no fee.
What if I am not a Nevada resident?
Our licensing agreement with the Career Information System developer does not allow us to provide unlimited access to non-Nevada residents. The Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation does provide open access to their web site located at http://www.nvdetr.org
How do I access the Internet version of the NCIS?
- Start from the NCIS login page: http://nvcis.intocareers.org
- Login to the NCIS using one of the two options identified on the login screen.
How often is the NCIS updated?
We currently update the NCIS annually to ensure that all the information provided is current and reliable.
What if I am having problems accessing the system?
If you are having problems accessing Internet NCIS, click on the NCIS Internet Support page to learn more. If you are still not able to access Internet NCIS please submit a request for information to: detrncis@nvdetr.org
Are there additional materials to help me understand some of the assessment tools? How do I access them?
Yes. Depending on the tool you are using we have additional resources that may assist you in understanding your results. If you are a student you may first want to check with your school career center or counselor as they too should have these resources available for you to utilize.

Will the NCIS help me find a job?
The NCIS is a career research tool. If you are looking for a specific job opening you can select the occupation in the "Occupations" module and then select the related "JOBcentral" topic.
Can I submit my resume to the NCIS?
No. The NCIS is not a job bank.
What kind of educational information is available in the NCIS?
The NCIS allows you to research schools, training programs and apprenticeship programs in Nevada and nationwide. The following modules are the best resources to search for accredited schools and programs of study:
